Software Engineer – Backend for Clean Energy Platforms

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join a mission‑driven team building the software infrastructure that powers the future of clean energy. Based in Switzerland and working in a remote‑first environment, you will develop scalable backend systems that connect energy providers with electric vehicles, home‑energy devices and other smart technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend integrations with third‑party platforms for EV charging and home‑energy systems.
• Build production‑ready, scalable backend features that address customer needs and extend platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with Product, Support, Commercial and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Improve and maintain cloud‑based services using modern development practices and scalable architectures.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while continuously enhancing reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Take ownership of projects, learn new APIs and technologies through experimentation and modern engineering tools.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and architectural decisions, promoting engineering excellence.

Required profile

• Professional experience developing and maintaining backend services in production.
• Strong understanding of scalability, reliability, performance optimisation and distributed systems.
• Experience with APIs and third‑party integrations.
• Proactive problem‑solver with a product‑focused mindset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non‑technical teams.
