Software Engineer – Data Platform

About the role

Join the Assurance Data Platform team at Cisco ThousandEyes to design and operate the core data infrastructure that powers analytics, machine learning and AI across the organization. You will build scalable, production‑grade pipelines and shared datasets that enable research, analytics and engineering teams to deliver AI‑driven network assurance experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate scalable data infrastructure and automated pipelines.
• Develop reusable platform capabilities for processing large volumes of data efficiently.
• Collaborate with engineers, product leaders, data scientists and cross‑functional partners to translate ambiguous requirements into secure, production‑ready solutions.
• Improve platform reliability, data accessibility and developer productivity.
• Support customer‑facing AI applications by providing high‑quality, governed data assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or 2+ years of equivalent practical engineering experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience writing production‑grade code in Python.
• 2+ years of experience with dimensional data modelling, schema design and production database operations (SQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• 2+ years of experience building and maintaining production‑grade data pipelines using big‑data technologies (Spark, Kafka, Presto) and ETL tools (Airflow).
