Software Tester – RMD System Development (Contract)

About the role

Roche is seeking a Software Tester to join the RMD System Development team in Rotkreuz. You will work in a cross‑functional environment on complex diagnostic instruments, supporting the verification and integration of hardware, software, and consumables.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and report on test work packages, escalating issues as needed.
• Set up and maintain automated testing environments and use data‑analysis tools to provide statistical results.
• Work with network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL) and manage gateways, firewalls and remote‑access connections.
• Create and execute test cases from product requirements, track issues and verify bug fixes.
• Generate regulatory documentation, design history files and technical reports in English.

Required profile

• Degree in a technical or life‑science discipline (e.g., Software/Electrical Engineering, Bio‑Process Engineering) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in diagnostic system development or a related field.
• Ability to work independently across hardware, software, consumables and assay development teams.
• Fluent in English and German with strong communication skills.
• Experience in a highly regulated environment and biosafety labs (BSL‑1/2).
