Staff Data Analyst - Global Travel Marketplace

About the role

A partner company is recruiting a Staff Data Analyst based in Switzerland to own analytics across a global travel marketplace. As the first dedicated analytics owner for this business area, you will build reliable data foundations and turn complex customer, booking and API usage data into insights that product, engineering and commercial teams use to make strategic decisions. You will work directly with senior stakeholders and combine strategic thinking with hands-on analytics engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Own analytics across the customer-facing business: enterprise partners, self-service customers, API adoption, booking performance and commercial outcomes.
• Partner with senior Product, Engineering and commercial leaders to set analytical priorities and turn business questions into data-driven decisions.
• Build, validate and maintain dbt models, data pipelines and analytical products that consolidate fragmented data sources.
• Establish standardized metrics and reporting frameworks to resolve dashboard discrepancies.
• Analyse customer journeys, API usage and booking behaviour to find friction points and conversion opportunities.
• Develop product analytics and experimentation capabilities, including hypothesis development, experiment design and performance measurement.
• Investigate complex marketplace data across products, systems and hotel supply networks.
• Take initiatives from discovery through implementation and adoption, using AI coding agents and automation tools while keeping data quality and standards.
• Shape analytics practices and data standards as the wider data organisation develops.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in data analytics, analytics engineering or a closely related discipline, owning complex analytical initiatives independently.
• Proven experience working with senior Product, Engineering or business leaders.
• Experience in startups or scaleups, able to handle ambiguity and limited structure.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem solving and communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Nice to have: background in marketplace businesses, travel technology or multi-sided platforms; experience consolidating data across products and customer segments; familiarity with AI-driven product development.

Required skills

• Hands-on analytics engineering: designing, developing and validating dbt models and data pipelines.
• Product analytics, customer behaviour, conversion funnels and API adoption.
• Practical experience with AI coding agents or AI-powered development tools.
