Strategic Partnerships Advisor to Vice-President

About the role

The Vice-President for Strategic Initiatives at EPFL seeks a senior advisor to develop and manage high‑impact partnerships across academia, healthcare, public authorities, charities and industry. You will act as a trusted bridge, shaping collaborations that enhance EPFL’s national and international reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice and serve as a sparring partner to the Vice‑President on complex initiatives.
• Design, coordinate and implement multi‑partner projects, establishing governance, roadmaps and implementation plans.
• Prepare briefings, analyses, presentations and speeches for senior leadership and external audiences.
• Monitor strategic commitments, organise high‑stakes meetings and represent the Vice‑President on an ad‑hoc basis.
• Facilitate alignment among diverse stakeholders and resolve emerging challenges.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent experience in higher education (asset).
• 5+ years managing strategic partnerships, multi‑stakeholder initiatives or institutional collaborations.
• Experience in higher education, research, innovation, healthcare, consultancy, public affairs or philanthropy.
• Proven ability to engage high‑level decision‑makers across academic, public, hospital, philanthropic and industrial sectors.
• Strong analytical, synthesis and communication skills, with high autonomy, diplomacy and political acumen.
