Strategic Sourcing Manager – Raw Material & Surface Treatment

About the role

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will develop and execute global sourcing strategies for raw material and surface‑treatment categories. You will act as a business partner to engineering, supply‑chain and production teams, ensuring a cost‑effective, high‑quality supply base.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement category‑specific sourcing strategies, targeting >3% annual cost reduction.
• Manage the global supply base, conduct risk assessments and drive performance improvements in quality, delivery and cost.
• Collaborate with Business Units, Engineering and Operations to align sourcing activities with product development and production plans.
• Lead cross‑functional sourcing boards and support best‑cost country sourcing, especially in Eastern Europe.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of strategic and operational sourcing experience in a global, complex organization.
• Experience in machine building, vacuum technology or semiconductor industries.
• Proven ability to manage cross‑functional teams and communicate effectively in German and English.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
