About the role

Lonza, a global leader in life sciences, is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a shift team of 6 × 20k DSP production staff in Visp, Switzerland. The role combines responsibility for safety, quality, and on‑time‑in‑full delivery with active participation in production planning and innovation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage personnel activities of the DSP production staff and ensure shift teams meet safety, quality and delivery targets.
• Collaborate with the Head of DSP on production planning, problem solving and implementation of innovation projects.
• Account for performance and results of shift teams together with shift team leads.
• Promote a strong safety culture, overseeing general work safety and safe behaviour of all shift members.
• Develop and execute training concepts for shift teams in partnership with shift team leads and the technical trainer.
• Plan long‑term, cost‑optimized staffing for shift operations.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in a scientific discipline.
• 2‑5 years of experience in a GMP‑controlled pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
• Proven leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Ability to manage diverse viewpoints and build partnerships.
• Strong knowledge of large‑scale production processes, detailed understanding of all process steps and systems.
• Experience in training execution and documentation.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; German at B1 level preferred.

Required skills

• Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) knowledge.
