Supply Chain & Procurement Manager

About the role

Adaptyv is building an automated lab that lets AI agents run biology experiments. As the first dedicated supply chain hire, you will own end‑to‑end procurement and build a flexible supply chain that scales with rapidly expanding assay portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement process for all lab inputs, from gene synthesis to consumables, including requests, purchase orders, receiving and vendor onboarding.
• De‑risk the supply chain by qualifying second sources, maintaining safety stock and establishing inventory policies to avoid stock‑outs and expiries.
• Negotiate volume commitments and pricing agreements with DNA, reagent, biosensor and catalog‑protein suppliers to improve gross margin.
• Model and plan supply needs for lab throughput expansion, covering volumes, lead times, storage and cash tied up in stock.
• Own landed cost considerations such as shipping, customs, import duties, VAT recoverability and cold‑chain logistics.

Required profile

• Experience in supply chain or procurement within a physical, technical business (biotech, CRO, life‑science or high‑mix manufacturing).
• Strong margin‑oriented mindset with ability to quantify cost savings across high‑volume protein production.
• Technical aptitude to discuss reagents with scientists and qualify alternative suppliers.
• Comfortable negotiating directly with long‑standing lab vendors and willing to walk away when needed.
• Hands‑on attitude willing to work across the lab, finance, logistics and occasional ad‑hoc tasks.

Required skills

• API integration and scripting experience to automate ordering, tracking and reconciliation.
• Knowledge of reagent categories (enzymes, antibodies, media, resins, plasticware) and their sourcing nuances.
• Familiarity with Swiss or EU import/export processes is a strong plus.
