Supply Chain & Procurement Manager

About the role

Adaptyv is building an automated lab where AI agents run biology experiments, and is one of the fastest-growing biotech companies. As its first dedicated supply chain hire, you will own procurement end to end: sourcing, negotiating, supplier relationships, inventory and cost. The role is hands-on, with the company growing from about 25 to 50 people in the next year.

Key responsibilities

• Own procurement end to end: requests, purchase orders, receiving, vendor onboarding and lot control, from gene synthesis to consumables.
• De-risk the supply chain by finding and qualifying second sources for single-supplier items.
• Negotiate with DNA, reagent, biosensor and catalog-protein vendors, including volume commitments and pricing agreements.
• Reduce the cost of a protein category by category, and stay ahead of new assays by pre-sourcing reagents.
• Set inventory policy: reorder points, safety stock and expiry management.
• Plan supply for the lab expansion, modelling volumes, lead times, storage and cash tied up in stock.
• Own landed cost: shipping, customs, import duties, VAT recoverability and cold chain.
• Work with Finance on COGS and gross margin, and automate ordering, tracking and reconciliation.

Required profile

• Experience in supply chain or procurement in a physical, technical business; biotech, CRO or life sciences is ideal.
• Understanding of reagent categories such as enzymes, antibodies, media, resins and plasticware.
• Ability to think in margins and to talk to scientists about sourcing alternatives.
• Comfortable negotiating with long-standing vendors and willing to walk away.
• Technical mindset: scripting against systems rather than using portals and email.
• Attention to detail on lead times, expiry dates, lot numbers and MOQs.
• Swiss or EU import/export experience is a strong plus.
