System Engineer – Infrastructure Automation

About the role

Julius Baer is looking for an Infrastructure Automation Expert to design, develop and deliver automation solutions that replace manual processes with self‑service offerings. You will work in a DevOps‑driven environment, helping product teams scale their infrastructure efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and implementation of automation solutions using vRealize (Aria) Automation and/or Crossplane.
• Create and maintain vRealize (Aria) Orchestrator workflows and develop Crossplane providers and functions with Golang and the Kubernetes Operator pattern.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align automation initiatives with business objectives and technical strategies.
• Provide technical leadership, contribute to roadmaps and strategic plans, and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Stay current with cloud, virtualization and automation trends and incorporate improvements.
• Produce technical documentation, including design documents, implementation guides and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience developing and operating Kubernetes Operators, preferably with Golang and Crossplane.
• At least 3 years designing, implementing and managing large‑scale automation solutions with vRealize (Aria) Automation.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, cloud‑native ecosystems and IT infrastructure (Windows, Linux, Active Directory, Cisco).
• Understanding of VMware vSphere, vCenter, NSX and DevOps practices (CI/CD, Git, ITIL, Agile).
