Tax Manager – Europe (Direct Tax)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager – Europe (Direct Tax) to join our international tax team based in Zurich. The role will support a portfolio of European jurisdictions, with a strong focus on Swiss tax matters, and will act as a trusted business partner to Finance, Shared Services and Global Tax teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and advise on the direct tax position for European countries, especially Switzerland.
• Provide commercial tax advice on transactions, restructurings, financing and operational initiatives.
• Lead corporate income tax compliance, reporting and provision activities across the portfolio.
• Coordinate with Finance to ensure accurate income‑tax accounting and reporting.
• Handle tax audits and inquiries, organising responses with internal and external advisors.
• Oversee activities of Shared Service Centers and external tax advisors.
• Monitor legislative developments in European tax jurisdictions and assess business impact.
• Collaborate with global tax colleagues on reporting, transfer pricing and regional tax matters.
• Review contracts and strategic initiatives from a direct tax perspective.
• Drive process improvements and standardisation of tax processes.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in direct corporate tax, including Swiss tax law.
• Experience with corporate income tax compliance, reporting and audit defence.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and external advisors.
• Ability to analyse legislative changes and advise on risk mitigation.
