Team Lead - Invoices

About the role

BLP is an AI platform that automates finance and operations processes, with Invoices as its largest product. As Team Lead for Invoices you own the team's roadmap, delivery, people and hiring. The team is growing fast and is distributed across Zurich and several European countries. You report to the Director of Product Engineering and work closely with product management and the go-to-market organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow the team: run regular 1:1s, coach subteam leads, set up the subteam structure and keep a distributed team connected through clear working agreements and transparent planning.
• Hire end to end: define profiles, screen candidates, run interviews and review coding challenges, aiming for about two new engineers per month, with onboarding plans and buddies.
• Own the roadmap: build the quarterly roadmap, run monthly planning with product owners and prioritize by customer impact, revenue and strategic value.
• Deliver for enterprise customers: take responsibility for the engineering side of go-lives, including requirements engineering, solution design, test and fix cycles, and give regular engineering updates to project managers and customer stakeholders.

Required profile

• Has led an engineering team of 8+ people for at least two years, ideally in B2B SaaS, and has grown a team through hiring.
• Has hired many engineers and knows how to run a structured interview process.
• Has delivered complex software for enterprise customers, including demanding go-lives, and is comfortable with customer stakeholders.
• Fluent in English; German is a strong plus.

Required skills

• Strong backend engineering background, able to read, review and discuss production code and system design with senior engineers.
• Able to prioritize ruthlessly, communicate trade-offs clearly and hold a position with engineers, sales and executives.
