Team Lead Operations - Vaccine Production Plant

About the role

Lonza, a global leader in life sciences, is building a new biotechnological production plant in Visp and is looking for a motivated and resilient Team Lead Operations to lead its vaccine production efforts. The Team Lead plays a pivotal role in the success of the production, guiding the team through both the project phase and routine production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, assess and coach a diverse team, supporting employee growth through performance reviews, regular feedback and development plans.
• Manage daily operations in a fast-paced environment, setting priorities, allocating resources and ensuring production targets and quality standards are met.
• Investigate production deviations and contribute to continuous improvement projects, recognising and correcting issues while ensuring compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Work closely with other team leaders and departments to optimise efficiency, streamline processes and share best practices, acting as a key interface between management and production.
• Oversee shift handovers, manage inspections and ensure training plans are created and implemented on time.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in a leadership role within biotechnological production, such as shift team leader, deputy or system specialist.
• Deep understanding of production processes in a large-scale environment, with expertise in all process steps and systems.
• Experience with manufacturing plants and coordinating complex work processes and resources.
• Fluency in English; German is a plus.
• Structured, organised approach, able to be assertive, flexible and resilient in a fast-moving environment.
• Willingness to work in a 4-shift system.
