Technical and Communications Internship at UNEP FI

About the role

The UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) Impact Centre is looking for a motivated intern to support its technical and communications activities. This six‑month internship in Geneva will give you hands‑on experience in sustainable finance, impact management and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with development of Impact Centre 2026 S2 activities, including iteration of impact mappings and tools.
• Support interoperability work and contribute to external engagement, particularly within the Impact Management Platform.
• Conduct research on sustainable finance, impact management methodologies, and related policy frameworks.
• Prepare briefing notes, summaries, and communication materials for internal and external audiences.
• Collaborate with the Impact Centre team and partner organisations to advance project deliverables.

Required profile

• Current university student or recent graduate in environmental studies, finance, economics, or a related field.
• Strong interest in sustainable finance, impact measurement, and environmental policy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Research and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
