Technical Operations Manager – Retail

About the role

Our client, an international retail company, is seeking a Technical Operations Manager to support and strengthen its growth across the Romandie region. The role will oversee the day‑to‑day technical and operational management of multiple retail properties.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily technical and operational management of several retail sites.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities across all locations.
• Ensure proper functioning of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems.
• Act quickly to resolve technical issues and minimise operational disruptions.
• Supervise on‑site technicians, caretakers and external contractors.
• Manage maintenance suppliers and service agreements, ensuring quality and cost efficiency.
• Monitor building compliance, safety regulations, inspections and legal technical requirements.
• Support budget monitoring and cost control for facility operations and maintenance.
• Conduct regular property visits to verify operational standards and service quality.

Required profile

• Technical education or background in facility management, building technology, maintenance, engineering or a related field.
• Hands‑on technical experience with building systems.
• Ambition to grow into a coordination‑focused role.
• Strong understanding of technical troubleshooting.
• Experience coordinating maintenance teams and external service providers.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Independent yet collaborative working style.
• Fluent in French and English; Italian or German is an asset.
