Technical Trainer - Power Electronics

About the role

ABB is looking for a Technical Trainer specialized in Power Electronics to join its Smart Power division in Quartino, Switzerland. You will design, develop and deliver technical training for ABB and Channel Partner service personnel worldwide, ensuring they can safely commission, service and maintain critical power systems.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver classroom or on‑site training courses covering HiPerGuard MV UPS, UPS, STS, PDU, PCS and Battery Systems.
• Develop and update course material for both classroom and e‑learning formats.
• Support Field Service and other internal teams by applying technical expertise to resolve service‑related issues.
• Coordinate training logistics, handle enquiries and manage course administration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in service operations, training, engineering, testing or power quality.
• Background in power protection equipment, with hands‑on experience in UPS, STS, PDU, PCS or battery systems.
• Adult‑education or training‑delivery certification is a plus.
• Strong communication skills in English and willingness to travel up to 20 %.
