TEM and TER Project Assistant (Consultant)

About the role

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) is seeking a consultant to support the Trans‑European Motorway (TEM) and Trans‑European Railway (TER) projects. Working from your home country, you will assist project managers in implementing strategic plans, coordinating activities and ensuring proper budget administration.

Key responsibilities

• Assist TEM and TER Project Managers in implementing strategic plans and initiatives.
• Prepare inputs, terms of reference and selection criteria for steering committee sessions, workshops and other meetings.
• Organise logistics and travel arrangements for participants of steering committee sessions and workshops.
• Support the drafting and administration of work programmes and budgets, and monitor their execution.
• Coordinate external consultants and distribute information to national coordinators.
• Maintain liaison with national coordinators on project implementation matters.
• Prepare project reports for the steering committee and other UNECE bodies.
• Oversee administrative and financial activities related to the TEM and TER Project Coordination Office.

Required profile

• Appointed as consultant by the TEM and TER Steering Committee following UNECE procedures.
• Ability to work remotely from your home country and report to project managers and UNECE officers.
• Experience in project coordination, administrative and financial tasks within an international context.
• Familiarity with transport sector initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
