Tenure‑Track Assistant Professor – Empirical Management Research

About the role

UniDistance Suisse is seeking two tenure‑track Assistant Professors specializing in empirical management research. The positions are based in Brig and start on 1 February 2027 (or by agreement). The successful candidates will join the Faculty of Business & Economics and contribute to its research cluster in applied microeconomics and econometrics.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct rigorous quantitative empirical research on topics such as digital transformation, data‑driven decision‑making, and AI in organisations.
• Publish regularly in high‑quality peer‑reviewed journals.
• Present research at national and international conferences and workshops.
• Supervise Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral theses.
• Secure competitive third‑party funding (e.g., Swiss National Science Foundation).
• Develop research and teaching collaborations with other universities and internal faculties.
• Teach undergraduate, Master’s and Doctoral courses in German, French and/or English.

Required profile

• PhD in Management, Economics, Business Administration or a closely related discipline.
• Strong record of quantitative empirical research, preferably using field or laboratory experiments and advanced statistical methods.
• Demonstrated ability to publish in reputable journals and to obtain external research funding.
• Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration within the faculty’s existing research clusters.

Required skills

• Quantitative research methods (experimental design, econometrics, data analysis).
