Trade Finance Officer

About the role

This full‑time position is based in Geneva and supports the international expansion of a petroleum trading company. The Trade Finance Officer will set up and run the trade finance activity, working autonomously while collaborating closely with trading teams and financial institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and issue Letters of Credit in line with UCP 600 standards.
• Oversee daily trade operations and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Facilitate finance activities related to commodity transactions.
• Coordinate with trading desks, banks, and other counterparties to support transaction flow.
• Monitor and prioritize multiple tasks to maintain smooth trade finance processes.

Required profile

• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to set up a new trade finance function.
• Professional experience in trade finance within a bank or trading company.
• Strong knowledge of soft commodities, metals and energy trading sectors.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
