Trading Operator

About the role

We are seeking a Trading Operator to join our Operations team in Geneva. The role is central to coordinating the end‑to‑end execution of physical energy transactions, ensuring precision and timely delivery in a fast‑moving, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics for loading and discharging operations by sea and overland.
• Monitor vessel rotations, loading plans and operational timelines.
• Liaise with traders, counterparties, service providers, inspectors, shipping teams and internal support functions.
• Manage storage and processing contracts, including quantities, qualities, customs and financial exposure.
• Identify and resolve operational issues with relevant stakeholders.
• Support financial guarantee management in collaboration with the Credit department.
• Monitor transaction‑related costs and communicate operational data impacting trading results.
• Review feasibility of trading negotiations and assist in formalising commercial contracts.
• Follow up on claims, insurance matters and damage reports when required.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal procedures, HSE standards and business integrity rules.
• Assist with invoicing, payment follow‑up and recovery processes where applicable.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a related field.
• First experience in a fast‑paced, international environment is preferred.
• Strong interest in energy, commodities, trading, refining or shipping.
• Understanding of refinery operations, product specifications and supply‑chain constraints is an asset.
• Rigorous, organized and able to manage multiple priorities under time pressure.
• Problem‑solving mindset and ability to coordinate with many stakeholders.
