Training Manager – Basel Office

About the role

Viking is seeking a Training Manager based in Basel to deliver practical, face‑to‑face learning for onboard leaders and employees. Reporting to the Director of Learning & Development, you will design and facilitate workshops that translate leadership and hospitality concepts into real‑world skills.

Key responsibilities

• Lead interactive training sessions on leadership, guest excellence, communication, company culture, onboarding and employee well‑being.
• Facilitate role‑plays, case studies and practical exercises reflecting cruise and hospitality operations.
• Design and adapt facilitator guides, participant materials and train‑the‑trainer programmes.
• Manage the annual training calendar, logistics, travel and equipment coordination.
• Partner with onboard operations to identify learning needs and develop pre‑ and post‑training activities.
• Gather feedback, assess outcomes and continuously improve content.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience delivering employee training, leadership workshops or facilitated learning in an international hospitality, cruise or retail environment.
• Strong facilitation and public‑speaking skills with the ability to manage diverse group dynamics.
• Excellent communication, relationship‑building and cultural sensitivity.
• Fluent written and spoken English and willingness to travel internationally up to 70%.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.
• Technical confidence in setting up and operating presentation, audiovisual and interactive learning tools.
