Underwriter Facultative Property (Hybrid, 80-100%)

About the role

Swiss Re is looking for an Underwriter Facultative Property for the Western & Southern Europe desk within its Facultative EMEA business. You will evaluate, underwrite and originate facultative property risks across a wide range of risk types, working with clients on their largest property risks and with colleagues across front- and back-office teams. The role is hybrid, with an expectation of being in the office at least three days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite facultative property risks in Western and Southern Europe, using technical judgement and modelling tools
• Originate new business and contribute to portfolio growth and profitability
• Assess risks such as fire, natural catastrophe and industrial property
• Build and develop client and broker relationships
• Support portfolio steering and data-driven decision-making
• Work with key account managers, client managers, market and treaty underwriters
• Share knowledge and develop tailored solutions for clients

Required profile

• Experience underwriting commercial and industrial property risks, including complex ones
• Proficiency in English; French, Spanish or Italian is an advantage
• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD, preferably in Economics, Engineering, Science or a related field
• Analytical, collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset, with excellent communication skills

• Power BI and GenAI tools for data visualisation and reporting

What we offer

• Base salary in Switzerland of 100,000 to 150,000 CHF for a full-time role, adjusted to profile and experience
