Associate Programme Officer – Trade Projects (Temporary)

About the role

The Associate Programme Officer supports the Office for Africa (OA) within the Division of Country Programmes (DCP) at ITC Headquarters in Geneva. The role focuses on the development, implementation and monitoring of multidisciplinary trade‑related technical assistance projects across the Africa region.

Key responsibilities

• Work with clients to facilitate programme design, implementation and evaluation, monitoring progress and recommending corrective actions.
• Conduct basic research, collect and analyse statistical data from diverse sources, and prepare analytical notes and background papers.
• Assist in consulting assignments, including planning workshops, facilitating interactive sessions and helping develop client action plans.
• Participate in survey initiatives, design data‑collection tools, analyse responses and draft preliminary conclusions.
• Provide administrative and substantive support for meetings, conferences and field missions, including agenda setting, logistics and documentation.
• Undertake outreach activities, contribute to training workshops and deliver presentations on assigned topics.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of trade‑related development concepts and project management principles.
• Ability to identify issues, analyse data and propose practical solutions.
• Experience in coordinating multi‑stakeholder programmes and conducting field‑based data collection.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
