Associate Programme Officer – Women & Trade (Temporary)

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is seeking a temporary Associate Programme Officer to support its Women and Trade (W&T) programme. The role will contribute to advancing gender‑focused trade initiatives that align with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5 (gender equality) and Goal 8 (decent work and economic growth).

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior programme staff in designing, implementing and evaluating W&T projects, ensuring alignment with client needs and ITC standards.
• Conduct basic research on market‑access issues, collect and analyse statistical data, and prepare concise briefing notes.
• Support coordination and evaluation activities, including monitoring emerging trends and reporting on project progress.
• Facilitate workshops and interactive sessions with clients, helping to develop actionable change‑management plans.
• Draft background papers, analytical notes, report sections and inputs for publications focused on women‑centred market‑access strategies.
• Provide administrative and substantive support for consultative meetings and related events.

Required profile

• University degree in economics, international development, gender studies or a related field.
• Experience in programme coordination, research or project support, preferably in an international or development context.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.
