CNC Mechanic – Prototyping

About the role

Audi Revolut F1 Team, the official factory team of Audi entering Formula 1 in 2026, is hiring a CNC mechanic for its prototyping work at Audi Motorsport AG in Hinwil, Switzerland. The role covers setting up and running complex milled components on 5-axis machines, optimizing milling processes and ensuring full responsibility for component accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and oversee highly complex milled components and implement process-relevant modifications independently.
• Optimize milling processes in close collaboration with the internal CAM programming team.
• Run demanding manufacturing on state-of-the-art 5-axis machining centers with Heidenhain TNC640 control systems.
• Load and prioritize prototype, single and small-batch parts using the latest robot technology.
• Ensure full responsibility for component accuracy and monitor the complete production workflow.
• Coordinate the whole process, from material ordering to quality control of the workpieces.
• Keep machine runtimes fully utilized in a regulated 2-shift system.

Required profile

• Vocational training as a Polymechanic EFZ or a comparable technical qualification.
• Initial experience in the independent operation of 5-axis machines.
• Fluent German for everyday work; English is an advantage.
• Strong quality awareness and a highly independent, systematic and precise working method.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Heidenhain control systems; specific experience with the TNC640 is a major advantage.
• Independent operation of 5-axis machines.
