Commercial Director – High‑Growth Workplace Consultancy

About the role

The Commercial Director will own and drive the commercial agenda of a fast‑growing, design‑led workplace consultancy operating across the UK and Europe. Reporting to the CEO and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, you will shape strategy, protect profitability and support the next phase of international expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the commercial strategy as the business scales.
• Lead estimating, contract negotiation, cost management and commercial governance on all projects.
• Negotiate high‑value contracts with multinational clients and supply‑chain partners.
• Partner with the CEO, CFO and Board on performance, risk and long‑term value creation.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing commercial team and implement scalable processes.
• Protect margins and cash flow while championing value engineering and smart risk management.

Required profile

• Senior commercial leadership experience in fit‑out, construction, workplace or design‑and‑build environments.
• Proven track record of driving profitability during periods of rapid growth.
• Deep expertise in commercial management, procurement and estimating.
• Strong confidence negotiating major contracts and influencing at Board and client level.
• Experience leading commercial teams and embedding commercial discipline.
• Exposure to international or European projects is a plus.
