Financial Analytics Engineer (18-month contract)

About the role

Within the Finance Process & Data team, you will lead the migration of Finance reporting from Power BI to Looker, building a scalable data layer in BigQuery and delivering governed Looker semantic models for Finance stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain the Finance data transformation layer in dbt/BigQuery.
• Develop and optimise Looker semantic models (LookML) and Explores for self‑service analysis.
• Translate existing Power BI reports into Looker equivalents and manage the migration in structured waves.
• Ensure data quality, apply naming conventions, testing and documentation standards.
• Provide runbooks, documentation and knowledge transfer for smooth hand‑over.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in analytics or BI engineering, preferably in a Finance environment.
• Proven expertise with dbt and SQL on Google BigQuery.
• Experience building Looker models and working with Power BI.
