Head of Office for Middle East and North Africa (P4)

About the role

The Head of the Office for the Middle East and North Africa (OMENA) will lead technical cooperation activities that strengthen trade capacity in beneficiary countries across the region. Reporting to the Director of Country Programmes, the incumbent will ensure that ITC’s programmes are demand‑driven, inclusive and deliver sustainable economic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop coherent and coordinated project and programme responses to country and regional trade development needs.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with private‑sector counterparts, national governments, regional organisations and UN Resident Coordinators.
• Enhance collaboration with donors, international partners and other stakeholders at country and regional levels.
• Gather country intelligence, conduct needs assessments and design demand‑led projects.
• Mobilise in‑country resources and manage multi‑year, multi‑disciplinary projects.
• Feed intelligence back to ITC to ensure high‑quality programme development and implementation.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with proven experience in leading trade‑capacity building initiatives.
• Strong understanding of inclusive and sustainable economic development in the MENA region.
• Ability to work under the direct guidance of senior management and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
