Human Resources Business Partner – DACH

About the role

The firm is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to support Practice Group Talent Leads across the DACH region. You will help shape the regional HR strategy, align talent initiatives with business goals, and ensure the firm’s values of collaboration, excellence, and inclusivity are embedded in everyday practice.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Local Practice Group Heads to align HR strategies with practice objectives and financial targets.
• Develop and implement practice‑group talent strategies, including pipeline management and succession planning.
• Coordinate promotion processes from Associate to Local Partner/Counsel and manage the annual matriculation process.
• Lead performance‑management cycles for Associates, Counsel, and Local Partners, including evaluations, moderation, and calibration.
• Provide coaching to partners on performance issues and escalate high‑risk employee‑relations cases.
• Oversee career‑development programs, nominate candidates for EMEA initiatives, and deliver individual coaching as needed.
• Facilitate regional career‑conversation programs and ensure practice‑specific training relevance.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role within a professional‑services or legal environment.
• Strong understanding of talent management, succession planning, and promotion processes.
• Ability to work in a highly matrixed, global organization and influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills, with a focus on driving performance and career development.
