Lead Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

Salesforce is seeking a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI‑agent solutions directly inside enterprise customer environments. You will lead a delivery pod, partnering with a Deployment Strategist to ship production‑grade code and enable customers to realise AI‑driven business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end design, architecture, and deployment of AI agents, including prompt engineering, reasoning, tool calls and integration with customer systems.
• Build and integrate data pipelines on Salesforce Data Cloud, Snowflake, Databricks and other platforms, and create dashboards to monitor agent performance and business KPIs.
• Drive Proofs of Concept and Minimum Viable Products from concept to production in days, co‑building with customers and partners.
• Act as the senior technical voice in the pod, surfacing platform gaps, mentoring junior engineers and translating complex business challenges into deployable solutions.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software engineering or technical delivery experience, preferably with AI/LLM stacks and full‑stack development.
• Extensive customer‑facing delivery experience in consulting, professional services or forward‑deployed engineering.
• Fluent in English and at least one of German or French, with willingness to travel ~25% of the time.

Required skills

• Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Apex.
• Large Language Models, prompt engineering, agent intelligence design.
• API integration, data modelling, and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Salesforce Data Cloud.
• Familiarity with agent frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex is a plus.
