Private Equity Associate – Secondaries

About the role

We are partnering with a leading global alternatives investor to support a major secondaries fundraise. The Private Equity Associate will act as the bridge between the investment teams and the Investor Relations function, working closely with institutional investors and the firm’s internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Support capital‑raising activity across secondaries sub‑strategies and contribute to go‑to‑market execution.
• Prepare institutional‑grade investor presentations, due‑diligence questionnaires (DDQs) and bespoke client materials.
• Conduct market research and in‑depth portfolio analysis to support the fundraise.
• Respond to ad‑hoc requests from investors, prospective clients and relationship managers.
• Engage with, and present to, institutional investors and other external‑facing parties.
• Liaise closely with investment, investment controlling, legal and compliance teams to ensure consistent and accurate communication.

Required profile

• 4–7 years of experience in investor relations, investment management, or private equity.
• Strong grounding in private markets, with direct secondaries and/or private‑equity exposure preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to present to sophisticated institutional investors.
• Analytically capable, highly organised and able to manage multiple workstreams under demanding fundraising timelines.
• Fluency in English and German.
