Programme Management Officer

About the role

The Programme Management Officer supports the Lead of the Programme Planning, Data Analytics and Reporting Unit in developing, monitoring and reporting on UNCTAD's annual programme plan. The role involves data collection, analysis, policy support, and coordination of budgeting and reporting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the development and monitoring of the annual programme plan, reviewing documents, identifying issues and proposing corrective actions.
• Support meetings of the Working Party on the Programme Plan and Programme Performance, preparing background papers and reports.
• Conduct consulting assignments, facilitate workshops, and help substantive divisions develop change‑management action plans.
• Research, analyse and present information from diverse sources; contribute to policy development and trend analysis.
• Collect and analyse data for the UNCTAD Management Information System (Dashboard) and design survey tools.
• Prepare written outputs such as background papers, analysis sections, and inputs to publications.
• Deliver outreach activities, training workshops and presentations on assigned topics.
• Participate in field missions, guide external consultants and draft mission summaries.
• Coordinate budget and funding activities, including programme preparation, progress reports and related documentation.
• Visualise data through graphs, charts and tables to support data‑driven decision‑making.
