Software Engineer – Applications

About the role

As a Software Engineer on the Applications team at DeepJudge, you will build the backbone that powers the web application and its core capabilities. You will take part in early‑stage design discussions, shape new and existing features, and eventually lead large, complex system changes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient, scalable backend services using modern tools and frameworks.
• Contribute to architecture and design decisions for new and existing systems.
• Review code and uphold high standards of code quality and maintainability.
• Improve tooling, refine processes, and share knowledge to enhance how the team works.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, preferably in a fast‑growing scale‑up.
• Highly proficient in at least one backend language such as Python, Rust, Go, or C++.
• Comfortable working on a Typescript/React frontend.
• Experience with highly concurrent/asynchronous code and databases (SQL or NoSQL).
• Familiarity with modern web architectures and cloud platforms.
• Proven ability to own projects end‑to‑end, from planning through implementation to maintenance and observability.
