AI Research Scientist/Engineer

About the role

Sonar is looking for an innovative Research Engineer to join its Data & Agentic team. You will help shape the next generation of Sonar's code analysis engine by applying cutting‑edge AI, Large Language Model (LLM) and agentic techniques to source code.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in concept ideation, brainstorming novel product improvements and providing practical feedback.
• Design, prototype, and validate novel machine‑learning models that detect complex bugs, vulnerabilities and code smells.
• Build hands‑on prototypes to demonstrate the viability and scalability of research concepts.
• Identify engineering bottlenecks or scalability limits and propose effective solutions.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate research outcomes into high‑impact product features.

Required profile

• Strong research mindset with a passion for turning state‑of‑the‑art AI research into practical solutions.
• Experience working on AI/ML projects, especially in the context of software analysis or verification.
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a fast‑paced, global team.
