AI Software Engineer

About the role

Avaloq’s AI Innovation Lab is looking for a highly skilled AI Software Engineer to lead cutting‑edge AI experiments and bring agentic solutions from concept to production. You will help improve operational efficiency and enhance user experiences across back‑office and front‑office banking processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead AI experiments and develop end‑to‑end solutions from ideation to production.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement agentic AI architectures.
• Create advanced prompts, multi‑agent workflows, and supporting tools.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain LLM‑based services in production environments.
• Optimize AI solutions for performance, cost, and scalability.
• Stay current with the latest AI research, regulations, and best practices.

Required profile

• B.Sc. (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong background in data science, statistics, and experimental thinking.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• At least 5 years of full‑stack software development experience.
• Minimum 3 years of applied machine‑learning work, including 2 years with LLMs and AI agents.
• Proven track record of deploying and maintaining AI models in production.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Full‑stack development.
• Machine‑learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑learn).
• Retrieval‑augmented generation pipelines and vector stores (e.g., Chroma, Qdrant).
• Agent frameworks such as LangChain, Google ADK, CrewAI.
• Cloud AI services: AWS SageMaker/Bedrock, Azure AI Studio, GCP Vertex AI.
• Experiment‑tracking and observability tools.
