About the role
As the ATLAS Muon LS3 Integration and Installation Manager you will play a key role in preparing and executing activities during Long Shutdown 3 (2026‑2030). You will ensure effective coordination across all ATLAS Muon sub‑projects, monitor progress on site and keep the upgrade and maintenance programme on schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate installation and integration activities across Muon projects, track progress, identify risks and ensure clear communication among teams.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Muon sub‑projects and ATLAS Technical Coordination, providing regular status updates and comprehensive documentation.
- Develop, maintain and monitor the integrated LS3 schedule for Muon installation, integration and maintenance.
- Oversee technical activities on the ATLAS Muon detectors in the UX15 cavern and resolve interface issues, schedule conflicts and resource constraints.
Required profile
- PhD or equivalent experience in Physics or a related field.
- Proven experience coordinating large‑scale detector systems or comparable complex scientific installations.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage work programmes involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with safety systems and safety‑related technical infrastructure.
Required skills
- Assembly and integration of detectors.
- Gas‑based particle detection technologies.
- Testing and validation of detector, accelerator and beam‑line components.
- Integration of infrastructure for experimental facilities.
- Knowledge of safety systems for scientific installations.
