Artwork Creation Manager

About the role

Roche Switzerland, acting for its long-term client F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG in Basel, is looking for an Artwork Creation Manager. The role is responsible for the timely and GMP-compliant implementation of artwork, text and graphic elements for Printed Packaging Materials (PPM) across global requirements, including managing the PDF creation process according to technical specifications and the Roche Packaging Style Guide. It is the key technical interface between internal teams and external service providers, within the Artwork Management group of the Product Configuration & Execution Center of Excellence in the Product & Supply Chain Management department.

Key responsibilities

• Create PDFs for printed packaging materials (folding boxes, foils, labels, leaflets) from manuscripts, annotated predecessor PDFs and technical drawings, and create new PDFs for launches and line extensions
• Create and edit graphical templates and die cuts, and maintain tables and graphic standards for print templates
• Collaborate closely with the Product Configuration Manager on on-time delivery and delays, and act as single point of contact for external artwork providers and packaging sites
• Manage file uploads to the PDF Library, create content sheets in WebCenter, and maintain text macros in the Text DB or scripts in Chili
• Finalize goods for printing, provide printing data to suppliers, complete GMP checklists, archive task data and manage complaints in the QMS
• Maintain country-specific specifications and graphic documentation, stay compliant with GMP and the Roche Style Guide, and run regular performance reviews and continuous improvement
• In proofreading, control artwork against quality requirements, defined standards and text and proof checks

Required profile

• Digital and Print Media Designer or Graphic Designer
• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in pharma or a service provider environment
• GMP experience required
• Education or qualification in Labeling & Artwork Management (or related field)
• Fluent English (written and spoken); German is a nice-to-have

Required skills

• Expert-level Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign
• Solid experience with artwork verification tools such as GlobalVision, TVT and Esko
