Backend Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join a fast‑growing, venture‑backed company building a modern cloud‑native platform used by thousands of developers worldwide. The role is fully remote and offers the chance to design, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend services that power critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for a high‑availability cloud platform.
• Develop and evolve a microservices architecture to ensure performance, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Optimize relational and non‑relational database structures and queries.
• Ensure system resilience, high availability, and robust error handling across distributed environments.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, DevOps, and other stakeholders to deliver end‑to‑end features.
• Participate in technical discussions, architecture decisions, and code reviews.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, performance tuning, and CI/CD processes.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in backend software development.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, Node.js, or similar languages.
• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience with distributed or event‑driven systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) preferred.
• Understanding of containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and good communication skills.
