Banking Audit Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Auditor to manage complex audit engagements within an international financial services environment. You will evaluate key business risks, strengthen governance and internal controls, and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements across a diverse banking landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements from risk assessment and planning through fieldwork, evaluation and final reporting.
• Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, governance structures and risk management processes across banking functions.
• Prepare clear audit reports and present findings, recommendations and risk observations to senior stakeholders.
• Track remediation measures and verify that identified weaknesses are addressed.
• Develop risk assessments and audit plans for international business units and act as the primary audit contact.

Required profile

• Completed banking apprenticeship, professional banking qualification or degree in business administration, finance, economics or a comparable field.
• At least five years of experience in banking audit, with responsibility for leading audit engagements.
• Professional certifications such as CIA, CFA or CPA are desirable.
• Strong understanding of banking operations, risk management, internal controls and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with banking platforms such as Avaloq.
