Binding Kinetics Scientist (SPR & BLI)

About the role

Adaptyv is building an automated lab that lets AI agents run biology experiments. The Binding Kinetics Scientist reviews and interprets SPR and BLI data, ensures quality, and communicates results to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Review all SPR and BLI runs, decide which data are delivered, flagged, or need re‑run.
• Judge curve quality, identify fit artifacts, and provide scientific explanations to customers.
• Collaborate with production, QC, and customer‑success teams to improve the automated pipeline.
• Analyze batch‑level data, write scripts to detect systematic issues, and feed findings back into software development.

Required profile

• MSc or PhD in biochemistry, biophysics or related field with 3+ years hands‑on binding kinetics experience.
• Strong judgment on fitting models (1:1, bivalent, steady‑state, mass‑transport, avidity).
• Comfortable communicating complex results to PhD‑level scientists and non‑technical ML researchers.
• Self‑starter who can prioritize work without a daily queue.

Required skills

• Deep experience with SPR and BLI platforms (Biacore, Carterra, Octet, Gator).
• Data analysis using Python or R to extract, fit, and visualize large data sets.
• Use of AI tools (e.g., Claude Code) for scripting, querying databases, and building dashboards.
