About the role
Adaptyv is building an automated lab that lets AI agents run biology experiments. The Bioengineer will scale up data generation by constructing libraries, running selections, and integrating the workflow into the company’s automation platform.
Key responsibilities
- Design and build diverse libraries using oligo pools, combinatorial assembly, and barcoding.
- Run end‑to‑end selection campaigns, decide platform suitability (phage, ribosome, mRNA, yeast, cell‑free) and troubleshoot failed rounds.
- Own sequencing analysis and hand off robust protocols to the automation team.
- Close the loop by coordinating expression and characterization of selected designs on BLI and SPR.
Required profile
- MSc or PhD in a relevant field with at least 3 years of hands‑on experience running display and selection campaigns.
- Proven track record of setting up a display platform, building libraries, and producing binders that validate in independent assays.
- Self‑starter able to prioritize work without a pre‑defined queue and thrive in a fast‑paced startup environment.
Required skills
- Python or R for independent data analysis.
- Next‑generation sequencing (NGS) as a routine tool.
- FACS experience (if available).
- Deep understanding of high‑diversity cloning and bias mitigation.
