Forward Deployed Scientist

About the role

As a Forward Deployed Scientist at adaptyv, you will work directly with customers to design proteins, plan experiments, and interpret results, bridging AI design models and the automated lab.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with customers to define protein design campaigns, set success criteria, and design experimental plans.
• Advise on design strategies using de novo design, diffusion models, protein language models, structure prediction, and physics‑based tools.
• Design experiments, select controls, and choose appropriate assays to test hypotheses.
• Analyze experimental data (binding, expression, stability) and translate findings into next‑round designs.
• Build long‑term scientific partnerships and feed insights back to product and platform teams.

Required profile

• Degree and/or hands‑on experience in protein design, computational biology, biochemistry, structural biology, or a related field.
• Deep familiarity with modern protein design and prediction models.
• Data‑driven mindset comfortable with Python, notebooks, and basic statistics.
• Strong communicator who enjoys collaborative problem solving with customers.
• Independent, curious, and able to own the success of customer campaigns.

Required skills

• Python programming for data analysis.
• Biophysical characterization techniques such as SPR, BLI, nanoDSF.
