About the role
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a motivated intern to support its Biodiversity Finance Working Group. The role will contribute to research, analysis and coordination activities aimed at closing the global biodiversity finance gap.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct methodological research on nature‑finance metrics, indicators and data sources.
- Monitor academic publications and prepare concise highlights for the Working Group.
- Assist the GEF Biodiversity Task Manager in drafting presentations, briefing notes and speaking points.
- Provide administrative and communication support, including scheduling meetings, sharing documents, maintaining the Working Group’s intranet page and taking minutes.
- Liaise with internal and external partners as required.
Required profile
- Strong interest in United Nations work and commitment to the UN Charter.
- Ability to interact respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Enthusiasm for biodiversity and finance topics.
