Business-driven Trade Facilitation and Investment Facilitation Intern

About the role

The Business-driven Trade Facilitation and Investment Facilitation Intern will support the ITC Division of Market Development in improving the business environment for exporters in developing and transition economies. This six‑month onsite internship offers hands‑on experience with trade and investment facilitation reforms, including WTO agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating and delivering events, missions, and conferences that support trade and investment facilitation reforms such as the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and the Investment Facilitation for Development Agreement.
• Conduct basic research on trade law, trade facilitation, investment facilitation, and trade policy, and provide regular updates on relevant developments.
• Contribute to the implementation of trade and investment facilitation projects and related technical assistance activities.
• Help develop concept notes, technical papers, reports, and PowerPoint presentations on trade‑ and investment‑related topics.
• Support the organization of workshops, training sessions, coaching activities, and regional events.
• Assist in preparing and disseminating corporate communication materials, including social media content, web stories, newsletters, and success stories.
• Map and monitor outreach activities and aid in the delivery of high‑level events of interest to the team.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a graduate programme (or equivalent advanced studies) in law, economics, international trade, or a related field.
• Strong interest in trade policy, trade facilitation, and investment facilitation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
