About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) seeks a Chinese editor on an individual contractor basis to review and improve the AI‑generated Chinese translation of the Rotterdam Convention website.

Key responsibilities

Provide a tracked‑changes MS Word document revising the Chinese translation of 4,957 English words.
Identify mistranslated terms, ensure use of official Rotterdam Convention terminology, and maintain UN/UNEP vocabulary consistency.

Required profile

Advanced university degree in translation, linguistics, law or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum five years of Chinese editing experience within the United Nations or similar intergovernmental organisations.

Required skills

Proficiency in MS Word with track‑changes functionality.
Strong knowledge of English‑Chinese legal, scientific and technical terminology.
