Compliance Officer – Swiss AML/CFT Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Compliance Officer to lead and enhance our Swiss compliance function at SCRYPT, the operating system for digital assets. The role focuses on Swiss AML/CFT regulations and the emerging crypto‑asset regulatory landscape, providing expert guidance to the business and board.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve SCRYPT’s AML/CFT programme under Swiss law (GwG/AMLA, FINMA AMLO, VQF rules).
• Lead client onboarding from a compliance perspective, including CDD, EDD for high‑risk profiles and ongoing monitoring.
• Conduct sanctions and PEP screening, name screening, adverse media checks and transactional monitoring against SECO, OFAC and UN sanctions lists.
• Run periodic risk assessments, staff training on AML, KYC and sanctions compliance.
• Oversee Travel Rule compliance for crypto transactions, including VASP identification and PII exchange under FINMA guidance.
• Maintain compliance controls for digital‑asset custody, brokerage and discretionary management activities.
• Develop internal policies for security tokens, stablecoins and DeFi‑adjacent products.
• Monitor regulatory developments (FINMA circulars, VQF guidance, FATF, MiCA, CARF/DAC8) and translate them into actionable measures.
• Prepare compliance reports, audit material and regulatory submissions; advise the business and Board on compliance risks.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of compliance, legal or risk‑management experience in a Swiss financial institution, fintech or crypto company.
• Practical, up‑to‑date knowledge of Swiss AML/CFT legislation (GwG/AMLA, FINMA AMLO, VQF) and reporting procedures.
• Familiarity with EU crypto‑asset frameworks such as MiCA and FATF guidance is a strong plus.
• Degree in law, finance, economics or relevant compliance certifications (e.g., CAS Compliance Management, ACAMS, ICA) is welcomed.
• Ability to act as a sparring partner for business units and to communicate regulatory requirements clearly.

Required skills
