DevOps Engineer – Mid‑Level

About the role

FORFIRM is seeking a mid‑level DevOps Engineer to join its international team and work on complex infrastructure projects for Swiss and European clients. The role combines hands‑on UNIX/Linux administration with middleware, container orchestration, and infrastructure‑as‑code automation.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and administer IBM WebSphere, Open Liberty and related middleware across development, test and production environments.
• Design, implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Ansible and Terraform, and develop automation scripts in Bash and Python.
• Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters in production and non‑production settings.
• Engineer robust UNIX‑based systems, optimise performance, and troubleshoot TCP/IP networking issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of large‑scale UNIX (AIX a plus) and Linux (RHEL, Debian) engineering and administration experience.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python, with proven ability to extend automation solutions.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Italian.
• Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
