Product Engineering Lead (QVAC) – Remote

About the role

Tether is building QV.AC, a privacy‑preserving, on‑device AI assistant. As Product Engineering Lead you will turn product vision into reliable features that run on real devices with strict performance constraints.

Key responsibilities

• Lead app and feature teams day‑to‑day, removing blockers, reviewing work and ensuring continuous delivery.
• Set and enforce high engineering standards for performance, reliability and clean APIs.
• Own technical design of features and the API surface between the AI core and the application.
• Collaborate closely with AI research and deep‑tech teams on code reviews, design and model integration.
• Partner with product managers to translate roadmap into scoped, buildable work and push back when scope mismatches reality.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing engineers or engineering leads who ship consumer‑focused products, preferably AI‑powered apps.
• Strong product sense with the ability to differentiate valuable features from unnecessary complexity.
• Intuition for applied AI on‑device constraints such as model size, latency, memory and battery life.
• Hands‑on use of AI tools and a curiosity for experimenting with new models.

Required skills

• Deep JavaScript development.
• Extensive experience with React.
