Director, HR Business Partner – Central & Eastern Europe

About the role

The Director, HR Business Partner (HRBP) for Central & Eastern Europe (CNE) will act as the strategic HR leader for the region, reporting to the Vice President, General Manager and partnering closely with the Vice President, HR Europe. This role is a member of both the CNE Leadership Team and the HR Europe Leadership Team, translating regional priorities into effective local execution.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as trusted adviser to the Vice President, General Manager and Country Leadership Team, shaping and executing the people strategy in line with business and Europe HR priorities.
• Lead organization build‑up across the CNE countries, ensuring appropriate capabilities, structures and ways of working as the business scales.
• Partner with leadership to develop high‑performing teams, strengthen leadership effectiveness and foster a collaborative, accountable culture.
• Drive employee experience and engagement initiatives, using insights to improve inclusion, connection and retention.
• Oversee talent management processes including workforce planning, performance management, succession and leadership development.
• Provide leadership on complex employee‑relations matters, investigations and compliance with employment law and collective agreements.
• Collaborate with HR Operations, Total Rewards and other Centres of Excellence to deliver compliant HR services and analytics.

Required profile

• 10+ years of HR experience in biopharmaceutical, life‑sciences or another highly regulated industry.
• Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology or related field.
• Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) or equivalent.
• Proven ability to build HR processes, structures and capabilities in fast‑scaling organisations.
• Experience working with works councils, unions or employee representative bodies where applicable.
