About the role
The Geneva Graduate Institute is seeking a senior leader to build and head its Development Office. Reporting to the President, the Director of Development and Donor Engagement will shape a multi‑year fundraising strategy that supports the Institute’s centenary ambitions and long‑term philanthropic model.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive fundraising and donor engagement plan aligned with institutional priorities.
- Establish and professionalise the Development Office, including governance, reporting, stewardship and KPI frameworks.
- Identify, cultivate and manage relationships with major donors, foundations, corporations, alumni and high‑net‑worth individuals.
- Lead the creation of a flagship endowment initiative and secure transformative gifts.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership, faculty and the Institute’s supporting foundation to advance fundraising goals.
- Leverage the centenary celebrations as a platform for donor outreach and growth.
- Implement CRM‑driven donor management practices and produce regular fundraising reports.
Required profile
- Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in development, fundraising or advancement roles.
- Proven track record of securing significant gifts from foundations, corporations or major donors.
- Experience building or transforming fundraising functions and teams.
- Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Background in higher education, international organisations or mission‑driven institutions is highly desirable.
- Fluent English; strong French is a plus.
